St. James Alumni Spotlight

Every spring semester, Tyler GAID MFA students engage in community partnership projects with local organizations. In 2023, my cohort collaborated with St. James School, an independent Episcopal middle school in Allegheny West. During our visit, the administration shared plans for a new space, inspiring us to create something special for it.
Working with Kevin Todd, the Director of Graduate Support, and interviewing recent graduates, we designed an alumni wall to celebrate inspiring alumni. Our goal is to foster a sense of community and motivate current students in their future endeavors. As they pass the wall, we want students to feel empowered, knowing they have the support of St. James.

The Spotlight installation highlights alumni both academically and personally, showcasing their interests, advice, and memories. We opted for a modular "card" design to reflect each alumnus' unique personality.
While construction on the alumni wall was still underway, we were grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with St. James and hope they enjoy seeing the Spotlight come to life.
